About The Artist

Adrian Wright - Artist and Cat-Parent.

I graduated university way back in 2005 with a degree in Fine Art and Art History, with elective modules in Illustration.  I taught art for 10 years, working in a range of places, from mainstream schools to young offenders settings; community spaces, to mental health facilities.  I taught drawing, painting, ceramics, textiles, crafts and lectured on Art History.

  

I have a passion for interior design.  I've done some freelance interior work and signwriting, but for the most part I simply enjoy filling my home with bright colours, patterned textiles and folk crafts.

I'm a little old fashioned.  I don't use computer technology when I draw.  I enjoy the satisfaction of working in pencils and coloured pens, as I love the hand-drawn, playful aesthetic they create.  

 

I've looked after cats most of my life.  My partner and I share our space with eight feline family members.  Drawing them in and around our home was a natural creative step.
